Living on the breadline and having a baby?
I'm sure there are loads of women who do it all the time in poorer countries but living in a country like the UK the norm is to buy a cradle or a cot. Lots of baby clothes and all the other debatable unnessecary items, baby baths or moses baskets. How are moms to be coping with paying for all the new things. Especialy if your living on one persons income.
well thats the problem no family with us so no baby shower .. the money my husband makes is just about enough for our rent and food for the week .. cribs are so expensive now i can understand why people have those desperate blog pages asking to donate money to single mothers.
Try signing up for your local freecycle site (google it). We've got loads of stuff, including clothing, blankets, a cot, and even nappies through it. You can post a request for newborn stuff, and I'm sure lots of people can help. My husband checks the postings every night.
I also recommend visiting all the charity shops you can, and hitting up relatives for donations.
And really, newborns don't need a lot: just some clothing and nappies and bedding. The rest is just icing.
