What is the best way to deal with cradle cap with babies who have longer hair?
Does anyone have any advice on how to work out the dry patches through the hair? My 1st child had very little hair so applying oil or lotion worked well as I could rub it off her scalp very easily. It's not so easy doing it through hair. Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated.
I used a comb and some vegetable oil. Commercial lotions are petroleum based and may aggravate the scalp. Vegetable oils or olive oils are gentle, cheap and don't have artificial fragrances. Whatever you use, you can just use the comb to loosen the flakes. Be careful not to irritate the scalp (obviously) with the comb. Get what you can and try not to worry about the rest.
